This years ride begins at the Weber County Fairgrounds more info...

UPDATE: As predicted, this years ride was better than ever!  After totaling all the proceeds and deducting the unavoidable expenses for the event, we realized a new record high: $11,400.  That brings our 6 year total to over $53,000!  Thank you for all your generous support!!!

The 6th annual Dan's Ride (2015) is going to be better than ever!  We will be starting and ending the ride at Weber County Fairgrounds to eliminate the extra tear down and setup required with two different venues.  We are planning an improved breakfast selection, compliments of BD Catering and as always, a great lunch prepared on our return.  And of course another great ride in the scenic northern Utah canyons.  Tell your friends and pass the word to all the riders you associate with.

Thank you for supporting and being a part of the continued success of Dan's Ride!  Although Dan's Ride 2014's attendance was lower than previous years, the overall funds raised were better than average. With attendance fees, generous donations, auction bids, and raffle ticket purchases; we raised $9,319 for HOOAH!  Thanks to all of our great supporters, Dan's Ride has raised over $41,600 for veterans and their families in our first 5 years.

Although there are some minimal costs associated with hosting an event like this, all of the organizers, staff, and board members are strictly volunteers.  Our books are available for inspection on request.

Where does the money raised go?  About 35%  of this money has gone to projects, such as sending neck coolers and Christmas packages to our troops, financial assistance to some of our local wounded warriors, and our entire first year funds raised went to Mikes Guardian Eagle Foundation for their use on various veterans projects.  The remaining 65% has been accumulating to setup a self-generating scholarship fund for veterans.

This year, HOOAH has finalized an agreement with Weber State University and have initiated the Dan G Dolan Veterans Memorial Scholarship.  This program will grant financial assistance to qualifying veterans that have exhausted their GI Bill or other government assistance and enable them to complete their degree.

If you know of any company or individual that would be willing to step up and help by sponsoring Dan's Ride, please contact staff@dansride.org.

The SPC Dan G. Dolan Memorial Ride is an annual event to honor and remember the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have given their lives, as well as those who have been wounded, in service to this great nation. This ride is to honor their heroism and their sacrifice. The proceeds from Dan's Ride this year will go to Helping Out Our American Heroes (HOOAH), our 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to military veterans and their families.

The ride begins at Weber County Fairground with a free breakfast, travels through some of Northern Utah's most scenic mountain passes and canyons, a ride-thru the George E Wahlen Veterans Home, and ends at the Weber County Fairgrounds for lunch, drawings, an auction, and live entertainment.  For event schedule, click here.

SPC Daniel G. Dolan, 19, died August 27, 2006 during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq, when his M1126 Stryker Vehicle came in contact with enemy forces using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Dan grew up in Roy, Utah.   Many of you rode and stood for Dan with the Patriot Guard Riders at his service in 2006.  For more about Dan, go to Our Hero page.
