The Dan G. Dolan Memorial Ride and Veterans Appreciation Festival is going to be an annual all day event to honor and remember the men and women who have given their lives, as well as those who have been wounded, in service to their country. This ride is to honor their heroism and their sacrifice. The proceeds from Dan's Ride this year will go to Operation Salute, a program of Mikes Guardian Eagle Foundation .

The ride begins at Golden Spike Harley-Davidson with a free breakfast, travels through some of Northern Utah's most scenic mountain passes and canyons, includes a brief stop and ceremony at the Roy cemetery to honor Dan, and ends at Boston's Gourmet Pizza in Layton for lunch and our Veterans Appreciation Festival with live entertainment for the rest of the day featuring The Kap Brothers, Dicky Martinez and the Little Big Band, Jaden Bliss, and Loki Mulholland. SPC Daniel G. Dolan, 19, died August 27, 2006 during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq, when his M1126 Stryker Vehicle came in contact with enemy forces using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Washington. Dan grew up in Roy, Utah. The Dolan's "Operation Salute" truck and trailer was purchased at the families personal expense to bring attention to the service and sacrifice of all our military members, veterans, and their families.
